Project Runway Australia.

I just finished watching season one of Project Runway Australia. All three of the people in the finale were amazing, I wish project runway Canada was up to those standards. Anyway the person who came third, Petrova Hammod, recently just did a fall/winter '09 collection based on the Lord Byron poem mentioned in the article blow. I am not sure if her clothes actually work, and I really do not like the model. But here is the best looks from the collection.

If any of you have watched PRA, you'll know that Petrova has the perfect sense of style. Her clothes are amazing, they are the fairytale outfits you dream of. Lots of tulle and colour. I am actually going to go buy a ton of tulle tomorrow and just make a ton of tutus :).

There was a yellow 'powder puff' dress that was made by the second runner up, Leigh Buchanan, in his final collection, which was also my dream. I would die for any peice of that collection, even if it was the mens. The mens skinny pant and visit outfit was to die for, I think I might make that and find someone to wear so I can be envious haha.
Here is a video of the three collections. I wasn't as impressed by the winner but some of her pieces like the scalloped skirt I would definitley buy. I don't know how to embed the video so I will just give you the links.
To anyone who watched project runway canada this year, don't you think these collections just put Canada to shame. Honestly we need to step it up!

*She walks in Beauty.

While I was searching for one of my favourite poems, I came across a song version of the poem.
I found out the song was actually in the movie Vanity Fair. Has anyone seen it? What did you think? I have been meaning to read the book, the size just intimidates me, just like Anna Karenina. I'll get around to reading both, maybe summer reading?
Anyway the poem I was looking for was She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron. Has anyone read it? It is just perfect.

SHE walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that 's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

The song is by Sissel under the same name. The song is actually better than the poem, there is something that is so haunting but enchanting about it. It reminds me of Thumbelina. After listening to the song on repeat, I thought I would hunt for pictures that match on Flickr, that match this song. I don't know if I am just bad at searching or to picky but I could barely find anything. I after combing through style.com, I still couldn't find anything either. What do you think this girl would be wearing? I think maybe Erin Fetherston Fall 2008 collection or maybe Alexander McQueen?

Ebay!

Hey Everyone!
We are going to be starting a Ebay vintage store! It will include mens and womens clothes and accesories. So stay tuned, it should be up and running by the end of next week!

002. Beach season is here ladies.

It's sort of trash to write two blogs around the same time but to satisfy those who like to lurk images the first time they hit up a new blog here it goes.

Yes its true....Canada is starting to finally get Californian temperatures and its time to hit the beach but not quite yet.. you get there and scowling winds chase the eager beach swimmer away.
so before we break out the AA bathing suits. & for the sheik fashionable girls and guys... beige bras with Panties and tights-white underwears.

But don't worry Canadians, we can still cover up and look very fashionable.

Here is a picture of a good friend Z/M here in a velour black hoodie pulled over her Beijing purchased red kimono. Posing like darth mahl on the assumed beach shores of Port Stanely. Taken with a disposable camera??? Eitherway its very VOGUE

001. Live long and prosper

Good afternoon, Lunch was fantastic, chicken stir-fry, and I hope yours was also. You all are probably dressed very fantastic right now; some of you are in that stunning but expensive dress that you’ve had tucked away in that designer box in your Ikea organized closet for weeks, or there’s the crowd that is deck’d out in a thrift store goldmine of cherished treasures and then there is rest of the population that is logically sitting late afternoon with their secret pair of comfy pants on or ‘gross’ loosely fitting clothes hanging down from their slouched shoulders, even though your friends would never appreciate it as much as you, you still think it’s the best damn thing to be in right now. I myself personally call them my afternoon soap clothes. As cheap lines omit from the television screen and yet again your favorite character is back in a COMA, or PREGNANT, or still an ALCOHOLIC. You think to yourself should I put the ice cube tray back in the fridge or pour another glass of tap water.

Come on you all were dressed up all day for school, work, or even the most exhausting out of the bunch, the social day spent out and about the city, so all of you have all rights to be in which ever outfit that suits you the best right now.

Tomorrow Star Trek 2009 hits the theaters Cobra snake BLOG fans and Trekies must be going mental right now. I personally have been starring at a shiny navy lame’ AA night jacket and wondering how big I should cut out the STAR TREK symbol out of Cardboard. Star trek music has been blasting all day out of my large apartment with a view. Get your Vulcan hands out splash some MAC make up to hide the edges of your eye brows and line draw your eye brows up and pointy. Tomorrow the EPIC STAR TREK 2000s SAGA BEGINS. Ladies there is a reason why twilight movies have previews at the beginning of them and original star trek VHS movies don’t. So get on your gear look great and have an exciting opening tomorrow, take pictures…. Lots of pictures and send us pictures VIA email. Resistance is futile only the die-hard fans will pick up with that quote. Remember we are not huge trekies, just the leftover trash of popular culture.

Love you all, Nico & Gitta.
